Ted's Big Perimeter Ride - Day 41

I left Vegas after a leisurely departure. The bellhops were curious about my trip and complemented me on the look of my bike. They were very efficient and helpful getting my gear ready for me to load.

I headed South and crossed over the new (to me) bridge next to the Hoover Dam. Sorry, but you cannot see the Dam from the new roadway. I had actually gone over the Dam earlier on a prior travelling expedition. I was getting hot and needed a Gatorade and a cool down, just when I came across Chloride. There was a nice little general store there, I picked up an Arizona roadmap and headed off. I took the old Rt. 66 section from Kingman to Seligman and there were several instances of the nostalgic Burma-Shave signs that used to populate many highways in bygone days. Near the end of the day I rode thru Holbrook, AZ and stopped along the strip for dinner. This is a very well preserved section of 'authentic' old Rt. 66 businesses. It was very crowded, not much available parking, I was hungry, the light was starting to fade - therefore, not much opportunity for picture taking. I located a campground a short way out of town and settled into my campsite. Relaxed next to an open fire and turned in for the night.

    Today = 269 miles,
    Total   = 9,897 miles
Riding Time:
    Today = 7-Hours, 40-Min,
    Total   = 12-Days, 20-Hours, 5-Min
Very helpful Bellhops, Marc, Mario, and Steve.
Thanks for your interest and help, guys!

Oh the memories these bring back...
Although the scenery is relatively constant - it is lovely.
